MICHAEL JACKSON'S MEMORIAL SERVICE

The gold plated coffin that was placed in front of the stage.

The final moment for Michael Jackson to pass over came at his beautiful memorial ceremony yesterday in Los Angeles.

20,000 fans arrived at the Staples Centre, with 8,750 that had tickets. A massive 1.6 million fans had applied to attend the memorial, but the ticket holders had to be chosen at random.

A large projection of Michael appeared on the wall, where a spotlight came down to point on the mic where the acts appeared.

It was a huge celebrity tribute turn out for him. Stars that performed and said touching speeches were Stevie Wonder, Mariah Carey, Lionel Richie, Queen Latifah, Magic Johnson, Jennifer Hudson, Smokey Robinson and more.

One of the celebrity acts was Usher pictured here, who was the first to touch Michael's coffin. He broke down in tears and was comforted and led away by some of the Jackson family.

The day started with a funeral motorcade from Micheal's parents home that included five Rolls Royce's, Three Cadillac Escalades and 10 black Range Rovers. The ceremony was held at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Motorways were closed down to allow the funeral party to pass through at ease and as privately as possible.

Celebrities gathered together on the stage at the end for a final song called We are the World, which was originally co-written by Michael

Michael's daughter 12 year old Paris gave her first public speech, and spoke this touching tearful tribute of her father:

"Ever since I was born, daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine and I just wanted to say I love him so much,"

It was a fantastic ceremony. One that will be remembered always. Just like idol Michael Jackson.

I'm sure he would have loved the ceremony. It was a perfect way for everyone to say goodbye.

I must say that I'm glad it's over. There's been sooo much coverage since he died.
