CLUSTER HEADACHE ADVICE

Strange enough there are different types of headaches. One of those is called a Cluster Headache.

This is one of the most painful ones you can get, as the pain runs across the face as well as the head.

It will probably start off as a knife like pain around one of your eyes, then it will spread to other areas of your head.

You may also get a runny nose, red/watery eyes, droopy eyelids, feel sweaty or feel anxious.

The cause of these headaches are thought to be from alcohol, high temperatures and strong odours.

Sometimes taking headache tablets alone are not enough as the headaches can last from 15 minutes to a few hours, so by the time the tablets kick in it will probably be over.

The best treatment is breathing pure oxygen or Sumatriptan injections that you can get on prescription from your doctor. The headaches should then clear up within minutes.

You can speak to your doctor to find out more information, and whether this is a suitable option for you.
