Women are generally are at more risk safety wise than a man would be. That's why i have always loved the idea of using pepper spray I found a really cool site called Safety Girls that specialize in items just for women. Whether it be when your in your car or out and about somewhere.
I just love the Safety Girl roadside emergency kit . It has the serious stuff inside like emergency instructions on how to change a flat tyre and start a dead battery, bandages, safety light stick an an emergency blanket.
But there are other fun things that us women would consider essentials too.
To name a few there is breath freshener, lip moisturiser, cleansing wipes, sewing repair kit, deoderant, a nail file and plenty more.
Just think of the times when you have needed these, and you haven't actually got it on you. You can just reach inside your handy kit and get it if you do!
It's the same with vehicle first aid kits. How many times have you had a small accident like nipping your finger, catching yourself on something, or if you have kids with you they hurt themselves somehow?
You can also get women's clothing, tools and other special kits especially for women on the site too.
