I remember when
yoga classes first came on the scene and was all the rage. Looking at the poses it looked quite easy and I thought it was all just a relaxation
technique and that was it.
Then I tried a class, and I was so wrong. Yes it does help your mind and body relax, but it's also great for your posture, strengthen different parts of your body and help tone up target areas too.
The class was different kinds of
yoga postures for about half an hour, and although I could feel the stretching in my movements I didn't really feel I had a proper work out.
But by the next day I felt I had
definitely done a work out the day before and was really impressed. And I didn't even break out in a sweat!
Now I have started doing it from home too using the techniques I learned and with the help of some
DVD's for more variety.
I am always on the look out for new techniques, advice and
information.
There is a website called 1800
GetYoga.com that provides everything you need to know about
yoga pilates .
You can find out why Yoga is good for you and the
benefits it carries, how to get your body more flexible and see videos that range on average about 10-20 minutes of Yoga and
Pilate's positions.
On another note I suffered with a bad back for years, but by doing a few simple positions each day it really helped strengthen my back and make it strong again.
Yoga is something anyone can do, and where you can go on to advanced levels to make it a more challenging exercise.
Have you ever tried Yoga and
Pilate's yourself? If so was you surprised by the way it really works at and tones your body?
