YOUNG MUSICIANS EDUCATIONAL TOYS

Music is a great way to get your child's mind really working. There are alot of children's musical toys about that can help with concentration, co-ordination, balance, aim and plenty more.

Something as simple as playing a triangle or a symbol might seem like it's just your child hitting it and making noise, when in fact you are looking at young musicians who want to learn how to hit that instrument and are determined to do it right.

If it turns out that they can make a tune out of it after a while then they have learnt a song as well as the other learning factors I mentioned above then that's even better.

You never know you could be looking at a future famous band member! All children live out their dreams when they are young don't they? And it can stay with them for years to come too.

My kids have alot of educational musical instruments. Sometimes I will play the kids toys with them - because they want me too of course and not that I want to! O.K well maybe I like to a little bit I will admit.

GIRLS ALOUD TO REFORM WITHOUT NADINE

It seems all is not well in the Girls Aloud camp. The girls who have had a break from the group for some time now have been doing their own thing, but the plan was always to reform at some point.

Band member Cheryl had her massive XFactor judge job and solo singing career, Sarah went into acting for a while and appeared in a movie, Kimberley was Cheryl's co-judge in selecting the final contestants on XFactor and has been Presenting. But there has been no sign of Nadine or Nicola doing anything.

I know Nadine tried to make it in America at one point and was dating TV star JesseMetcalfe but nothing ever came of it.

Now the girls have decided to reform without her. Was Nadine a little bitter about the other girls successes perhaps? Nicola hasn't complained has she?

Their people have said;

"It's been a painful decision for Sarah, Nicola, Kimberley and Cheryl but they have decided that the future of Girls Aloud lies without Nadine,". "[They] want to return on their own terms - and avoiding any squabbles is a high priority. That's why they have decided to go on without Nadine."

REFRESH YOUR ROOM: Modern Furniture

I always think modern furniture seems to brighten any room up. The designs are usually minimalistic and clean looking.

The bedroom furniture I particularly like. The beds are the type you can tuck your covers in the mattress without being embarrassed what the base looks like.

STOP YOUR DOG BARKING WITH BARK OFF

Dogs can be great animals to keep but there can be occassions when their constant barking can become irritable or embarrassing at the wrong times.

It might be when your at home trying to talk on the phone, someone coming to the door, people coming in the house or even when you take your dog for a walk.

Telling your dog to stop wont always make them quiet. However you still want them to bark at times of need like if someone was trying to break into your home for instance.

A special device has been invented called bark off that helps to control your dogs barking. It sends ultrasonic sound waves across when you turn it on that only your dog can hear. It's kind of like a dog whistle but without the blowing really.

When your dog hears it they will calm down and go quiet. It's a portable device you can take with you inside your car and on walks too and small enough to put in your pocket.

You can switch it off whenever you like, so there is no fear that you dog wouldn't bark in the middle of the night in an emergency when you would appreciate their barking most.

TITANIC 2 SLAMMED FOR 'POINTLESS RE-MAKE'

This is the trailer that has been slammed by the media and the public to be the most pointless sequel ever.

The original box office selling Titanic film was huge at the time and is still a firm favourite for people to watch now if they want to see something a bit soppy for 3 hours, but Titanic 2 has been seen as unnecessary and embarrassing.

The low budget film is set 100 years later in the present day instead and the same events happen as they did in the original. I don't even think there are any well known actors in it.

It does sound pointless but I might have to watch a bit of it (after it's ended at the cinema of course if it makes it!) just so I can see what all the fuss is about.

My friend recently had her bridal shower and there was a mix of family and friends, where some of them didn't really know each other so she decided to try out some fun bridal shower games to break the ice a little bit.

TOY STORY FAN CHANGES NAME TO BUZZ LIGHTYEAR

There are always some loyal fans that take things a little too far. 26 year old Toy Story lover Steve Bolton has recently officially changed his name to Buzz Lightyear.

Does he not know that Woody is the lead actor and that he probably wouldnt have sounded so strange if he had that name instead!? ... No? Oh well the spaceman wannabe said he wanted to do something special for the release of Toy Story 3.

I bet he will be getting some strange looks when people look at his bank card and passport. Maybe he will be wearing the outfit at the time to save any confusion!

PARADE SCHEDULES FROM AROUND THE WORLD

Whenever I go out for the day or on holiday I always like to pre-plan what kind of activities and entertainment are going to be available at that time.

I particularly love things like the Disney parades and the kids love it too. It gives them a chance to meet their favourite characters and because they are so young still it's a magical experience, as they still believe the characters they see on TV and in the movies are real.

If I can and there is enough time I will check out the parade schedules before hand and see if I can book our day out or holiday around that time, rather than just being in luck and finding out when we get there.

If you have never been to parades before they are good fun. usually you will get lots of floats passing by with the people or characters on them, and following different entertainers like stilt walkers, dancers etc. It's great to watch and the kids are really fascinated by it all.

There are alot more parades than you would probably think. There is the Disney Parade most of you of probably heard of and the Mardi Gras parades, then you also have the very traditional ones that represent the country like Ireland's St. Patrick's day. And also fun themed fan parade events such as a star wars parade.

Yet again another celebrity perfume will hitting the shelves soon... yawn! Forgive me if I have lost a bit of interest but with Paris Hilton releasing her tenth perfume, talks of Lady GaGa making one and Jennifer Aniston releasing hers there could soon become a shop just stocking celebrity perfumes. Maybe there is already!

Singer Katy Perry will be releasing her 'Purr' perfume in November in a cat shaped bottle with jewelled eyes.

It's suppose to have the fragrances peach, apple, green bamboo, jasmine, freesia, Bulgarian rose, vanilla, orchid, white amber, sandalwood and musk inside. Bit of a mix and match that isn't it?

Looks like it will soon be the battle of the stars to see who's perfumes sells the most.

Sexy Indian American Rockstar Anand Bhatt popularity has risen in Hollywood lately - especially with the ladies.

Even more so he is said to be in talks for releasing hair products as well as health items and clothing.

JENNIFER ANISTON LAUNCHES HER FIRST PERFUME

It's usually the pop star celebrities that release the latest perfume, but now Jennifer Aniston has decided to join the trend and release her first perfume.

She held the official launch at Harrods in London, UK and has called it Jennifer Aniston.

I wonder what it smells like. If the perfume matches her look and personality it should be simple and sweet with a lasting effect!

She is not an unpopular movie star either, so it should go flying off the shelves.

FASHION SHOPPING: Are You A Fan?

Whenever I feel the need to treat myself - which can be quite often in a woman's world!, I will always buy some new womens shoes You can never have too many pairs of shoes can you? In fact I could say the same for all the necklaces and pendants I have too. But you always need them don't you? And if you throw away the things you don't use, you can bet there will come a time when you will need them and end up buying more.

It's the same with children's clothing. I love to shop around looking for different outfits. Even though it's not for me I like to see my kids dressed well and they always seem to be growing out of their clothes these days.

At birthday and Christmas time I will always ask for handmade jewelry. I suppose you could say i'm a bit of a fashionista.

I can see myself having alot of fun looking around there that's for sure.

JENNIFER ANISTON'S STALKER FREED

With stardom sometimes comes the over obsessive fans, which unfortunately Jennifer Aniston knows too well about.

She has recently been stalked by a man called Jason Peyton, and it has worried her so much she had to file a restraining order against him to stay 100 yards away from her, her staff and her vehicles.

His attempts have been driving across the USA to find her in Los Angeles, waiting in his car with a sharp object and some duct tape and things were found on him like DVD's of Jennifer's movies, a notebook with messages about and to her including a list of baby names they would choose and he scratched 'I love Jennifer Aniston' down the side of his car.

How disturbing is that? He was held in a phyciatric ward for a while on his arrest, but has now been released with the restraining order terms. Erm why?

Jennifer said of the ordeal;

“Mr. Peyton’s ongoing, ever-increasing, aggressive and harassing conduct are extremely distressing. I fear for my personal safety and that of those around me”

WHAT'S YOUR CAMPING STYLE?

When your taken away from your home comforts you suddenly realise how much you need certain things and rely on them.

Things such as fire, kitchen utensils, blankets, cookers, fridges and alot more. If you have ever been camping below are just a few of the things that spring to mind.

Who would have thought that sleeping in an open air atmosphere even for just one night you would need so much stuff?

We always take quite alot of camping equipment with us. Several of them are:

* A grill to cook the food. We tried an open fire once but found it's not such a good idea with young kids around.

* A cooler bag/tub to keep all the food fresh and the drinks cold.

* Lanterns and torches - alot of people don't even think about this when camping, and it can easily be forgotten about if your focused on what your doing in the day and not the night time. There are no street lamps about in a big field are there!?

* Kitchen utensils - got some tins you need opening? What are you going to stir your food with?, how will you light your grill? etc.

Like I say those are just a few of the things you need to keep in mind when camping. There are alot more things you can take depending on what kind of camping trip you have in mind like a traditional one or an easy life one!

I like to opt for an easy life one, only because i'ts better with the kids around, but perhaps if I was there as a couple or with a group of friends I would like to make things more interesting lighting a fire from scratch, fishing for food and that.

JAMES CAMERON TO DIRECT BLACK EYED PEAS MOVIE

When pop stars go into film it can go either way really. For instance the Spice girls acting debut seemed to go belly up, whereas Justin Timberlake seemed to be quite popular.

Now the Black Eyed Peas are venturing into the filming industry with James Cameron as their director.

The film will be in 3D about their tour. Will.i.am seems especially excited and didn't hold back how brilliant he thinks he - I mean the group is! He said;

“We have the biggest director, because we are the biggest group on the planet.”

CLASSIC WOODEN TOYS: Which One Was Your Favourite?

I remember when I was a little girl and had wooden toys like dolls houses, rocking horses and the train sets. Still such a classic today, although many toys seem to be made mostly out of plastic.

The only reason I can think of is maybe plastic is alot cheaper to manufacturer than wood? And wood is probably more expensive to buy too because of this?

I don't know about you, but I would prefer to buy wooden toys when possible as they will last a long time, sometimes even years.

Have you ever tried to break a piece of solid wood? So it's not likely this would happen when the kids are playing with and handling them. The only thing wooden toys probably wouldn't be so good for is being exposed to water, as the water will soak in the wood causing it to expand, crack and rot.

When my toys used to get a bit worn and old looking my grandfather used to touch them up with some paint and they would look brand new again.

My Victorian dolls house was my favourite. I had sweet little wooden furniture in each room, and because my grandfather was a bit of a craftsman he would make me extra bits in his woodwork room to go inside too.

I love to buy my kids the classic wooden toys like the bead maze's, wooden building blocks and the push along toys. It brings back some memories and I find myself playing with them because of this. I guess we are all still a big kid inside aren't we?
