PRISON SENTENCE FOR MICHAEL JACKSON'S DOCTOR

Ever since Michael Jackson died there have been questions looming over the cause of his death and whether it could of been avoided. These questions have been pointed at Michael's doctor Conrad Murray who was there at the time of his death.

The case went to trial and his doctor has now been found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and sentenced to 4 years in prison.

The judge commented saying;

"There are those who feel Dr. Murray is a saint. There are those who feel he's the devil. He is neither. He's a human being."

"Dr. Murray abandoned his patient" ... and went on to say his conduct was 'egregious' and 'a disgrace to the medical profession.'

The judge also said that Michael died because of the actions of Dr. Murray and the treatment he was giving Michael was a 'cycle of horrible medicine'.

So it looks like the case is finally closed. Michael's family, friends and fans finally have answers and some justice over this long drawn out situation. I'm sure some people will say 4 years is not enough and have other comments and news stories as usual but that's to be expected isn't it. R.I.P Michael.

MODERN & ANTIQUE BATHROOMS

I always like to look for something a little different than the norm when it comes to accessorizing my home.

Like the modern bathroom vanity and other beautiful antique vanities over at Bath Kitchen and Beyond.

BEST PLACE TO HIDE PRESENTS?

If you have children don't you sometimes feel like installing an invisible fence like the kind that dogs have!?

If yours are anything like mine you tell them not to go somewhere in the house but they go and do it anyway! Even though it could be potentially dangerous but that's kids for you I suppose.

I don't have that many storage areas in my house and I've already been stocking up on the Christmas presents. They are currently hidden away in my spare room which has nothing in it but for some reason my kids find it fascinating, and even more so that they have glued their eyes on the suspicious looking tied up black bags!

Maybe I should have put the presents in the loft but me climbing without the usefulness of a fold down ladder is not a good look for me and not kind on the old bones for stretching and bruising them no doubt!

But what can you say to a nosey 4 and 7 year old who still believe in Santa Claus? "Whats in those black bags Mommy?" they said. I managed to avoid that question and usher them into their own bedroom! Maybe I should put a bolt on the top of the door and the problem would be solved wouldn't it? But me and Mr D.I.Y are not a great match at all. Knowing me I would put the bolt on the wrong side of the door frame.

Oh I do miss the baby gate days when everything was impossible to get to with them. And having two boys full of energy for 99% of the day you can imagine what its like.

Where do you store your Christmas presents for your children or are you more of a rushed Christmas Eve last minute shopper? Or just trustingly put them under the tree?

JESSICA SIMPSON IS PREGNANT

Jessica Simpson couldn't hide that bump for much longer and has finally confirmed now that she is in fact pregnant.

She took to her official website to post the news to her fans and said;

"It's true! I am going to be a mummy!"

She's having the baby with her finance Eric Johnson who popped the question just 6 months of them dating and they have been together nearly a year and a half now.

Jessica looks proud to be showing off her bump in the picture. Good luck to them and the baby to be!

PUT YOUR TRUST IN A AMERICAN SHIELD CONTRACTOR

Sadly because there are that many cowboy contractors out there these days it can be hard to find a decent one when things go wrong.

I remember I went through about 5 pages of a directory once to get quotes for some radiators I needed fitting after I refurbished the house. And the several contractors that did bother to turn up gave me completely different prices. One told me that he needed to relocate the old piping before he could do the job as it hadn't been fitted correctly, yet the others didn't say that at all. And they wonder why there is a lack of trust with contractors?

After a string of unsuccessful quotes and a gut feeling I learnt my lesson early before I had anything dodgy become of the works I needed doing, and decided to use an American Home Shield company.

At least that way I know the person doing the work is accredited and can be trusted. And I've even thought about taking up one of those one year contracts too in case anything did go wrong with my heating. It does sound rather appealing as it saves me paying out for a huge bill if something were to happen.

Heating is so unpredictable isn't it? - especially in the winter times. Its definitely not good to be sitting in a living room that's colder than outside - been there done that and its terrible! Not even the warmest coats could keep the heat in and I intend on never going back there again!
